Divorce Information You Want To Know

It is the philosophy of Silverman Divorce & Mediation Law, in Pleasanton, to show a high level of concern and understanding for our clients while providing a thorough, economical and professional service. Our first and foremost efforts will be toward settling your issues through mediation and negotiations on an amicable basis. If these efforts fail to meet your needs, we will go to court as zealous advocates for your legal rights and interests. Above all, we will do what you require. If you specify that a matter should be handled in a particular way, that is the way we will handle it provided such requirements are, in our opinion, legal, proper, ethical and in your best interest.

Will Anyone Know About Your Coming Here?

As our client, you can be assured that all communications between us are kept entirely confidential unless they are disclosed to experts with your approval. The privilege of confidentiality has been consistently recognized by courts and cannot be violated. Nevertheless, our fee agreement must be disclosed to the court at the appropriate time.

How Do You Make An Appointment?

To make an appointment, call attorney Bruce S. Silverman directly. We will gather some information and mail you our information questionnaire. After you have completed the questionnaire, we will schedule an appointment at a time and location convenient for you.

How Much Will It Cost?

Fees and costs depend on the services to be rendered as well as the nature and complexity of a particular case. During your initial interview, we will give you our best estimate of costs. In some cases, your spouse may agree or be ordered to pay part of our fee. However, those instances are rare and you must be prepared to be responsible for our professional fee. Because of our high level of expertise and the efficient manner in which we handle matters, we are able to provide these services at an extremely affordable price. For your convenience, we accept both Visa and MasterCard.

How Long Will Your Divorce Take?

If your case can be negotiated and/or mediated amicably and is uncomplicated, all the paperwork can be completed in as little as six weeks. Your divorce can be automatically finalized in approximately six months from the date of service without additional paperwork.

If your spouse is troublesome and the issues complex, we can still guarantee a judgment of divorce regarding status only in six months; however, other issues may take much longer. The length of the process depends on the county in which the divorce takes place, the complexity of issues and level of your spouse's cooperation.

Our firm maintains a state-of-the-art computer system to ensure that all necessary documents are prepared and filed quickly.

How Can You Help?

You can help things move more smoothly by bringing important documents and information with you to your appointment. You will find a list of documents requested at the end of our information questionnaire which will be sent to you upon request.

Please bring all documents relating to your marriage, including the marriage license, court documents, birth certificates, agreements, and similar writings with you. Bring all documents that may be important. A written list of your questions is also helpful.

Remember, do not sign anything until after you have met with us.

It is always better to consult with a professional before signing anything than it is to see one afterward. Also, try to maintain as friendly a relationship as possible with your spouse, assuring your spouse that your intention is to achieve a fair and amicable settlement.
